Jubilee looks for redheads

1 Jun

The shops are bursting with red, white and blue at the moment and there’s Jubilee memorabilia everywhere, so I thought I’d write a Jubilee-themed post all about the red, white and blue things I want in my life!

Red

Make up: MAC Russian Red lipstick £13.50 is a must-have in your redhead make up bag. It’s a bluish red, making it perfect for pale skinned natural redheads.

Shoes: Office Klassy Courts in red patent leather £65 are cute and curvy, they’ll look awesome with blue denim.

White

Make up: Use the white end of Bourjois Noir and Blanc pencil £5.49 on your lower waterline to make your eyes appear larger.

Shoes: Go for nude, not white when it comes to shoes and accessories. Or they’ll get really dirty!

Dress: Oasis white daisy bodice dress £60 is pretty and summery with a pretty floral bodice – on trend for the floral trend.

Blue

Make up: When it comes to blue it’s all about the metallic smoky eyes. Jemma Kidd Make up School Crushed Jewel Creme Duo in Lolite £16 has been in my make up bag for forever. Apply the creme eyeshadow as light or deeply as you want and add the jewels over the top. It’s stunning.

I’m coveting this navy lace dress from Lipsy £45, it’s got a bit of a Kate Middleton feel – it’s classy and covered up but the lace still makes it flirty.  Wear with red lipstick and the boys will be falling at your feet!

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend x

Pretty pastel make up for redheads

19 May

Spring pastel make up for redhead gingerSpring is here! Here’s a look to make you look as fresh as a daisy and ready to leap around like a ginger lamb! You can make this look brighter for a night out or keep it fresh and lively for a daytime. I love this look because it’s really quick and simple, you can apply it with your fingers but it’s really striking too.

Get the look

Base
– After moisturising, apply a light foundation or tinted moisturiser over your face, followed by a dusting of translucent powder. Cover up your under eye circles, you want to look fresh! – I used Laura Mercier undercover pot concealer in shade 1.

Eyes
– To avoid creasing and help your eyeshadow last longer apply an eyelid primer. As always, I used Urban Decay eyeshadow primer.
– Cover your lid in a mint green eyeshadow. You can use your fingers if you like to pat the colour all over.
– To make your eyes pop, apply a thin line of turquoise eyeshadow under your lower lash line with an angled eye brush. I used Benefit hard angle brush (bought for about £5 in the sale at Cheapsmells.com – bargain!)
– Heavy, dark mascara is too harsh for this look so use a dark brown mascara. I added a few individual false lashes to the corners of my eyes.

Cheeks
– I used a fan brush to swirl a little highlighter over the top of my cheekbones.
– Pink blush all the way! A cream pink blush is ideal for this look as you can blend it in with your fingers.

Lips
– I used my new favourite colour – Topshop lipstick in Tease, £8 on my lips.  You can outline with a nude pencil to help stop the colour from bleeding. It’s a super light pink and I get loads of compliments whenever I wear it!
